The Elizabeth and James spring 2013 collection features some seriously stylish pieces that are both timeless and fashion-forward. Check out Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's latest creations!
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have unveiled their collection for
The Row at New York Fashion Week. Speaking about their new line,
the two 26-years-old actresses-turned-fashion-designers summed it
up as "structured suiting and draped silks." As usual, one could
spot a particular mix of uptown and downtown elements, but also a
beautiful and chic blend of masculinity and femininity.
The Elizabeth and James spring 2013 collection features some
seriously stylish pieces that are both timeless and
fashion-forward. In an interview with LA Confidential, Ashley
explained the label's aesthetic. "Elizabeth and James is known for
jackets with a great fit, whether it be the oversize, more
masculine 'James' or the fitted and feminine 'Elizabeth.' Shirts,
dresses and delicate chiffon blouses are signatures of the line as
well," she said. Their latest line includes sheer trousers, relaxed
blazers, under knee-length tunics, and floor-length dresses with
pleats and folds worn with flat sandals.
So, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, who won the top prize,
Womenswear Designer of the Year, at the 2012 CFDA Awards for The
Row, have already managed to conquer the fashion world. Now, it's
time for the two sisters to take one step forward and launch a
fragrance. Yes, the designers partnered with Sephora in order to
create a perfume as part of their own clothing brand Elizabeth and
James. The scent is set to be released next March.
"We look forward to bringing the modern perspective and fashion
philosophy of Elizabeth and James designers Mary-Kate and Ashley
Olsen to life with this prestige fragrance," Michael McGeever,
senior vice president of Sephora Originals, told WWD.
