The Christian Dior
haute couture spring 2013 collection proved that elegance is still
Dior's main specialty. Although Dior's creative director, Raf
Simons chose to take a totally new approach to fashion, the designs
are still worthy of the highest praises. The inspiration for this
spring 2013 haute couture collection? Gardens in the spring season
and with the streets of Paris covered in melting snow, a bit of a
fresh, springish vibe couldn't have been more welcome even though
it's fashion we're talking about.
Dior has veered away from its theatrical approach to fashion for
the past couple of years and its feminine, slightly vintage
approach to fashion seems to capture perfectly the essence of the
Christian Dior house. The designs however are brought to suit the
contemporary fashion standards through pops of color, asymmetric
lines and sexy mesh insertions that add more sexiness and boldness
to the designs, which is to be appreciated as classic designs with
a bit of a twist are always attention-grabbing.
The elegance of Dior's iconic Bar jacket convinced Raf Simons to
revive the unmistakable narrow waist silhouette design and bring it
back to its glory days by giving it a more business-chic allure.
The jacket paired with cigarette pants led to a powerful look that
suits every woman! However, once we take our eyes off the pant
deux-pieces, whether the suits or the pants are paired with lovely
corsets, the attention falls over to the intricate, vintage dress
designs, making absolutely unquestionable the fact that the dress
is the ultimate must have in a woman's wardrobe!
The Christian Dior spring 2013 couture show made its debut with
fifties inspired bell shaped dresses that looked classic and
elegant. Asymmetric details then took over the podium set in
Paris's Tuileries Garden, thus making sure that women that want to
make a statement can easily do so all while maintaining that
timeless sophistication that makes heads turn. Floral applications
and mesh insertions underlined the spring gardens theme of the
collection and the result was just spectacular!
From lovely color blocking midis to gorgeous floor-length gowns
that brought front-and-center the impeccable craftsmanship skills
of the Dior house, the podium was packed with various dress designs
that looked fantastic and suitable for all occasions, so no wonder
the audience present at the unveiling of the new Dior couture
spring 2013 collection was mesmerized by the designs from start to
finish!
