Couturiers all over the world have gathered in Paris, the city of love, to express their love for couture through their amazing fashion collections. One of the labels that has always drawn a massive amount of attention is Christian Dior, and the brand's spring 2012 couture collection was no disappointment as it was a feast for the eyes of everyone present at the show. The predecessor of John Galliano at the House of Dior, designer Bill Gaytten, who worked alongside Christian Dior for 16 years, has managed to draw inspiration from iconic Dior elements and transpose his ideas into an amazing vintage-glam couture collection.
From soft flowing silhouettes to Jackie-O inspired dresses and
vintage Victorian styles, the collection featured an array of
amazing ultra glam designs that can pose as a perfect option for
women with different personalities.
The modern accents were introduced throughout the collection
through leather insertions and sheer layers that exposed the
beautifully constructed garments. Because the Dior label has always
been about beautifully constructed garments enhanced through
artistic craftsmanship, details that established the Dior Ateliers
as some of the top in the fashion industry, the collection was
infused with exquisite embroidery that made the delice of the
collection.
Pencil skirts, A-line dresses, Jackie O dresses gave a very soft
and sophisticated elegance to the collection through cuts, design
as well as fabric choice. A black sheer skirt which generously
exposed undergarments paired with a gorgeous black crocodile scales
jacket and matching black high leather gloves sprinkled the
collection with a little bit of boldness.
A-line dresses and tone-on-tone embroidery kept all eyes on the
designs as the elegance exuded by these details cannot be topped
and make all the difference when it comes to elegance and
refinement.
Obviously, vintage Victorian era inspired dresses were the 'cherry
on top of the cake' as Bill Gaytten saved the best for last.
Carefully constricted dresses featuring flirty billows of tulle
ruffling down and gently caressing the floor as the models strolled
down the runway made heads turn with admiration. These are
definitely red carpet worthy dresses, so check out the entire
couture collection for spring 2012 signed Christian Dior and draw
inspiration for your next high glam appearance.
