This is definitely one of the loveliest lines seen at Paris Fashion Week. For her second collection for Chloé, Clare Waight Keller manages to spectacularly balance British sportiness and French sophistication. And the result is to die for! Check it out!
Clare Waight Keller unveiled her second collection for Chloé fall 2012 at Paris Fashion
Week in a tent in the Tuileries. After confessing that she was
inspired by the real girls on street style blogs for her debut
collection for the renowned French house, this time the
British-born designer created a fabulous range of sporty-chic
ensembles, perfectly mixing the relaxed British style with that
special French elegance. "It’s about a British girl falling for the
classic elements of Paris . . . pearls, lace," said the designer.
And the result was to die for.
Imagine luxury meeting sporty and you'll get a stunning parade of
outstanding looks as the ones spotted at Chloé. "I’m really
savouring the experience of being a London girl, having been
transplanted to Paris. And I really wanted to reflect that
sensibility in these clothes," Waight Keller explained. Besides the
already famous breezy silhouettes and dreamy hues specific to the
French house, the designer also added some alluring knits, her
signature accents as part of her Pringle of Scotland heritage.
Clare Waight Keller moved to Paris last year when she was named
creative director of Chloé, replacing Hannah MacGibbon. "I really
like it here. It feels a lot more grown-up," she said. Speaking
about her new mission, the designer confessed that, "I am thrilled
to be joining one of the most prestigious design houses in Paris.
Chloé is a brand that conveys a beautiful sense of effortless
femininity and vivacious sophistication that I look forward to
continuing into the next era".
The newest fall 2012 Chloé RTW collection features a riot of
exquisite pieces and lots of details that add that extra-refinement
to the laid-back silhouettes. There are oversized coats, capes,
hooded parkas, soft wool pants, pussybow blouses, knitted
sweatshirts, cropped balloon pants, delicate lace dresses and
skirts. Each look was completed by appropriate accessories such as
ankle-strap pumps, colorblock satchels, oversize clutches, and wide
belts. The color palette included pretty pastels, ivory, red, but
also black, gray, camel, brown, burgundy, and mustard. Absolute
gorgeousness, isn't it?
