Carmen Marc Valvo launched his own line of sportswear in 1989, but it was his glamorous approach to fashion the one that brought him fame among Hollywood’s top leading ladies. After graduating from the Parsons School of Design in New York, Valvo began his career as a designer for Nina Ricci in Paris, followed by a stint at Christian Dior.

Even though he has never thought of becoming a fashion designer, Valvo's elegant and chic evening-appropriate pieces are now staples at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, Bergdorf Goodman, and other specialty stores nationally and internationally.

Carmen Marc Valvo Couture was launched in 1998, due to overwhelming requests for gowns by celebrities and stylists. Each of the exquisitely crafted and luxurious gowns are made using the highest quality fabrics, leathers and furs. The Carmen Marc Valvo Collection is inspired by the designer's Couture line and features sophisticated and accessible pieces for the elegant woman. The Carmen Marc Valvo brand also includes custom furs, eyewear, jewelry, and a swimwear line. His beautiful designs have been worn by famous names such as HRH Princess Madeleine of Sweden, Queen Latifah, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Vanessa Williams, Kate Winslet, and Eva Longoria.
