Modern vibes with an urban touch is the style concept creative director Tom Maier used for the spring 2012 Bottega Veneta collection presented at the Milan Fashion Week. Simple, elegant and feminine, the collection is a fabulous reflection of the idea of effortless chic outfits.
Traveling can be one of the best ways to expand one's horizon
and this is exactly the thing that has inspired the latest Bottega Veneta spring 2012
collection. “Urban chic,” the designer told WWD. “It was about
traveling and handicraft, and opening your eyes to this in big
cities. Sometimes, you don’t even need to travel.” With clearly
defined shapes, subtle abstract prints and a lot of exciting
vibrant colors, simplicity with a twist is one of the best options
for the upcoming season in the brand's vision.
By now it is abundantly clear that mid length dresses and skirts are a must have for
the spring summer 2012 months and the brand is definitely endorsing
the very same trend in several ways. Shirtdresses are one of the
most interesting style options provided, especially due to the
fabrics used. Leather and PVC are some of the fabrics used to
create interest and to add a touch of edginess and originality to
the outfits presented.
Aside from feminine dresses with a conservative vibe in terms of
cuts and details, flirty evening dresses with the already popular
high split, peasant tops, short leather jackets and chiffon details
are other style trends that stood out. With the multitude of
versatile pieces presented and the fairly balanced array of color
choices, the collection is definitely one of the most balanced ones
from this edition of the Milan Fashion Week.
