Balenciaga's fall 2013 collection unveiled at Paris
Fashion Week focused on architectural, clean-chic elements and the
result: worth every bit of your attention!
Filling in the shoes of Nicolas Ghesquière and Cristobal Balenciaga
- who was named by Dior 'the master of us all'- is no easy task but
it seems that Alexander Wang is up for the challenge as his designs
for the fashion house's fall 2013 lineup are oh-so-chic.
Balenciaga is a label known for
its surprising take on femininity and it seems that the 29 year old
high-end designer captured the essence of the label with his
creations as they look classic yet ultra-modern all at once. With
strategically placed lines, the new collection conquers through its
sophisticated yet minimalist chicness brought by both separates and
dresses, so should we be surprised to see these outfits on some of
the world's most stylish women later this year? Definitely not as
each design is exceptional and worthy of the label it
bares!
The Balenciaga fall 2013 collection debuted with variations
of the fall season's must have: the coat! From classic, masculine
line coats to short sleeve waist enhancing coats and signature
cape-boleros which with Balenciaga wowed his fans back in the day,
the collection featured every coat style that's hot today. The
designs that followed seemed to display elements inspired by
uniforms, mixing and matching black high up the waist skirts with
tucked in architectural detail white shirts, combos that impacted
heavily the collection due to their powerful, statement style,
however the designer didn't risk featuring more than a couple of
designs following this risque style and balanced the collection
with chic cut-out dresses that revealed the back, the ribs or the
shoulders, thus infusing a bit more sexiness into an otherwise neat
and relatively somber collection.
For the ladies that want to embrace a chic, sophisticated, neat yet
modern style, Alexander Wang brought
designs created through the fusion of soft, feminine and luxurious
fabrics with the powerful visual impact brought by impeccably
tailored trousers paired with fur vests and coats, stylish maxi and
midi dresses displayed in monochromatic or printed fabric or
through the use of skirt separates cut after vintage-inspired or
modern patterns that looked absolutely faultless.
Although the designer got stuck on an achromatic palette using just
black, silver and white in the lineup, the elegance of the cuts
gave the collection a totally luxurious and modern feel, so browse
through Balenciaga's fall 2013 collection and see which patterns
cause your heart to skip a beat!
