Hooray! Time for a new super-cool collaboration! Azealia Banks has been named the new face of T by Alexander Wang. The 21-year-old singer will appear in the young designer's T fall 2012 campaign. Check out the first video!
Okay you girls, so here it is! Another oh-so-cool collaboration! Azealia Banks has been announced as the new face of the T by Alexander Wang fall 2012 campaign. Earlier this year, the 21-year-old singer accompanied Wang to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Met Gala and her track "212" provided the soundtrack for his spring 2012 campaign. Now, she models for the young designer's fall diffusion collection!
Speaking about his choice, Alexander Wang told Style.com that,
"She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent.
I loved working with her on this video for T Fall 2012, and think
the collaboration captures a collision of energies."
In a video for the campaign, Azealia rocks some really fab pieces
from Wang's T fall/winter 2012 collection and strikes a pose while
singing 'Van Vogue' from her latest EP '1991.' The ad was directed
by Daniel Jackson and Banks was styled by Alastair McKimm.
Alexander Wang is used with choosing musicians in his T campaigns.
He worked in the past with Diplo, Santigold, and Die Antwoord.
As for Banks, this is not her first high fashion gig. The beautiful
songstress also collaborated with Lady Gaga's frequent stylist,
Nicola Formichetti, on her flashy "Liquorice" video. Besides, in
January, Azealia debuted her song, 'Bambi,' during a Mugler fashion
show in Paris, a track that samples and distorts The Black Ghosts'
"Repetition Kills You."
Azealia's debut album, "Broke With Expensive Taste," is set to be
released in September.
