For Alexis Mabille, femininity with a luxurious touch was the focus of the spring 2013 haute couture collection. Browse through the show's best looks.
For the Alexis Mabille label, the 2013 Paris Haute Couture Fashion
Week has marked more than a great occasion to display gorgeous
dresses that instantly capture the spotlight. This edition was
different compared to the fall 2012
couture collection not only through the concepts endorsed
but also because this edition was the one that consolidated the
couturier status of the label once and for all. With this in mind,
the label has focused on craftsmanship rather than on structure and
brought some spectacular feminine options down the catwalks with a
few edgy touches thrown now and then.
For the most part, the couturier has focused his attention on high
impact gowns that have the ability to make any woman feel like a
princess. Still, there were a few interesting options that strayed
from the norm and completed the vision of the label with
spectacular options for those who like feminine touches but don't
necessarily adhere to the conventional recipe for elegance. With
organza, chiffon as lace as the fabrics of choice, however, the
intent of the new designs was more than clear. If short cocktail
dresses were fairly straightforward in terms of proportions, the
evening gowns were a different story altogether.
Though neutrals set the tone for the collection, vivid tones were
the true stars of the new collection. A few dark touches were used
as accents from time to time yet the overall preference from a
chromatic standpoint was crystal clear: monochrome piece and simple
variations between tones for proper emphasis. For a modern vibe,
the mermaid style dresses were accentuated but the dramatic touch
of princess style gowns was the true focus of the collection and
marked the most memorable part of this significant event in the
history of the label.
Ruffles, strategic sheer touches, ribbons, intricate patterns which
have an undeniable luxurious vibe that is impossible to miss,
subtle pleats and delightful contrasts easily obtained by playing
with proportions are the simple ingredients of a series of amazing
looks that have the power to instantly mesmerize and intrigue and
truly have that special haute couture touch that all customers
crave.
