In honor of the upcoming 2013 Golden Globe Awards, let's a have a look back at the most iconic celebrity red carpet looks that stole the spotlight over the years.
With the 2013 Golden Globes airing this weekend, the excitement
and anticipation run high. Not only to find out this year's
winners, but also to see what fabulous red carpet gowns our
favorite celebs will be donning in the big night. Refinement and
sophistication have dominated these shows in the past years and set
the trends for the season. Some looks have managed to become truly
memorable and were destined to inspire and intrigue, so in
preparation for the big night, let's see some iconic celebrity red carpet
looks the past Golden Globes Awards ceremonies have brought
us.
Whether they had the courage to experiment with volume and
proportions or went for tried and true flattering classics, some
celebs manage to shine enough to steal the spotlight
unconditionally. Charlize Theron impressed everyone back in 2005
when she wore a gorgeous Christian Dior's blue strapless gown that
complimented her sultry dark tresses perfectly. The entire 'femme
fatale' allure was impossible to miss.
Jennifer Lopez was another celebrity which had a multitude of
eye-catching looks over the years, however it was the 2007 edition
that surprised and enchanted fans simultaneously. The Marchesa one
shoulder embroidered gown she chose was different from her usual
body-con picks, yet she rocked the look to perfection
nonetheless.
Eva Mendes also had her fair share of fab looks, yet the 2009
Golden Globes showed us that the actress knows how to take a
calculated risk every once in a while and looked amazing in the
white Christian Dior strapless dress with a beautiful modern
twist.
Beyonce proved she's a true showgirl back at the 2007 Golden Globe
Awards when she chose an Elie Saab golden high-slit, halter neck
gown that beautifully showed off her curvalicious figure.
The year 2007 brought yet another fabulous look from Cameron Diaz
who opted for a sultry yet romantic look in a gorgeous
floor-sweeping tulle gown designed by Valentino.
The 2011 Golden Globe
Awards have brought us a multitude of amazing looks but the
most memorable appearance was definitely Olivia Wilde who tackled
the princess allure playfully in a truly memorable Marchesa beaded
gown which she skillfully paired with gorgeous Christian Louboutin
golden spiky platforms which made her look steal hearts
irremediably.
Vintage dresses can steal the spotlight just as much as modern
versions, and Jennifer Aniston proved at the 2004 Golden Globes in
her bold vintage Valentino dress.
We couldn't finish this glamorous retrospective without
mentioning Diane Kruger who drew all eyes on her last year when she
donned an exquisite Christian Lacroix gown from the label's spring
2009 couture collection.
We cannot wait to see who'll be the most iconic presence this year
on the red carpet and who will land the best dressed list at the
2013 Golden Globe Awards!
