Amy Winehouse has provided inspiration for the the fall/winter 2010-2011 Fred Perry collection. The Amy Winehouse Collection for Fred Perry features classic pieces, pencil skirts, twinsets and wide belts, gingham shirt dresses, and pink and black as predominant colors.
The British iconic brand Fred Perry collaborated with Amy Winehouse for the fall/winter 2010-2011 collection. The special line includes 17 models inspired by the '50s and early '60s. Every fashionista can discover short skirts, pencil skirts with tailored polos and jackets in a palette that features mostly pink, black and gray.
The 27-years old singer-songwriter has been a Fred Perry fan for years. Before the Amy Winehouse Collection for Fred Perry to be launched Amy said: “I’m really excited about doing this collection with Fred Perry. We’ve been working on it for a while and it’s great to see it finally come to fruition.”
John Flynn, managing director of Fred Perry, said: "We have had a great relationship with [Winehouse] over the years as she has been a loyal fan and supporter. Amy's sense of style and attitude to music and fashion pervades through this collaboration."
The Amy Winehouse Collection for Fred Perry has a retro approach with a late '50s and early '60s touch. Halter-neck gingham shirt dresses, sleeveless shirt dresses, short pencil skirts, knitted silk skirts, Capri pants, cropped trench coats, argyle long sweaters, knitted cardigans and sweaters, bowling shirts, checkerboard shirts, and cropped Harrington jackets are the main clothing pieces that might draw your attention. Besides these, you can also find accessories, such as clutches and leather belts.
The collection was launched at Fred Perry’s London store in Old Spitalfield’s Market on October 21st, 2010. During the launch Winehouse performed wearing an outfit from the new collection, a V-neck Fred Perry sweater dress with black and pink checks. The Amy Winehouse Collection for Fred Perry is now available online and in stores.
