One of the hottest couples in Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson announced that they will divorce after just two years of marriage. The couple released a statement saying that the split is amiable and they leave their relationship with love.
Sexiest Man Alive Ryan Reynolds (34) and Hollywood beauty Scarlett
Johansson (26) decided to come to an end after two years of
marriage. Even though rumors have been saying that the couple
separated about six months ago and they were rarely seen in public
together, the news was a shock for family and friends. The pair was
always very private when it came to their relationship, therefore
it is hard to tell what went wrong and what might have lead to this
breakup.
According to US Weekly it seems that the main reason for the
separation was time spent apart on movies. In a joint statement the
two declared that “After long and careful consideration on both our
parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our
relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it.
While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated.” Another
source said that Ryan and Scarlett separated about two weeks ago
and that “They are being very civil about it.”
The official confirmation of their marriage ending came after TMZ
released a report about their separation. Ryan Reynolds and
Scarlett
Johansson started dating in 2007 and got married in
September 2008 in a private ceremony ceremony in Tofino, British
Columbia, Canada. In the September issue of “GQ” magazine, Ryan
said that Scarlett was “the best part” of his life, though he said
having a family was “a few years down the road.”
“People” named Reynolds the Sexiest Man Alive, while Johansson was
named GQ's 2010 Babe of the Year. Throughout time it was rumored
that Scarlett dated many famous men, such as Benicio del Toro,
Jared Leto, Justin Timberlake and Josh Hartnett. She denied the
relationship with del Toro and she dated very seriously Hartnett
for about two years. Ryan Reynolds was previously engaged to singer
Alanis Morissette. After announcing their engagement in June 2004,
their representatives announced that the couple mutually decided to
end their relationship.
It seems that their breakup is not the only celebrity split
announced lately. Other casualties include the marriages of model
Elizabeth Hurley and Indian businessman Arun Nayar, and “Dexter”
stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter.
