Rita Ora will star in the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie which will be released in 2015. The singer is adding 'first major film role' to her already long list of achievements of 2013. Lately, she's been on a role signing one endorsement deal after another and reportedly preparing to test her designer skills with a new line for Adidas and now she's getting ready to really make an impact with her acting skills. She will be playing 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey’s "tall and curvaceous" adopted sister, Mia. The star didn't waste any time and proudly delivered the news to her fans on Twitter as soon as it was official.
The Yugoslavian-born British singer and songwriter has studied at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and has made short appearances in movies before. She had a cameo appearance in “Fast and Furious 6” and “90210” and had a role in the British film “Spivs”. The cast of the movie, which is made after one of the fastest selling book series of all time, has changed from the original plans. While Charlie Hunnam, who was originally cast as Christian Grey in September dropped out, Oscar winning actress Marcia Gay Harden and Eloise Mumford have joined the cast.
Marcia Gay Harden will be playing Grey's adoptive mother, while Eloise Mumford will play Kate Kavanagh, the best friend of the main female character, Anastasia Steele. Though the significant cast changes caused a significant delay in the movie production, the crew has finally began shooting the new movie in Vancouver on December 1st.
Though Rita Ora hasn't gone to Vancouver yet, she seems anxious to start proving herself as an actress. The movie is expected to be released on February 13 2015, just in time for Valentine's Day instead of next year as it was originally planned. The delay and the significant cast changes has led many people to believe that the new movie will fail to raise to the expectations.
