Penelope Cruz is the latest star who graces the GQ cover, UK edition. The stunning 37 year old actress does a sexy yet classy photoshoot for the magazine and touches a variety of topics regarding her career, the experience of motherhood and her take on the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” movie.
The renowned Spanish actress Penelope Cruz has
received a lot of attention from various publications lately. After
landing on the cover of Vogue US sporting a fab natural look, she
now sports a rather different look for the British edition of the
GQ magazine. Upping the glam factor and sporting a provocative, yet
undoubtedly refined and sophisticated look, the actress truly seems
to have found the fountain of youth.
Given the fact that the premiere of the “Pirates of the Caribbean:
On Stranger Tides” is just days from now, it's no wonder that this
subject is now on everyone's lips. Without spilling the beans as
far as the actual movie is concerned, Penelope reveals her
excitement to work on this uber successful project by describing
her feelings back when the offer was made to her:

"Rob and I were eating together and he turned to me and said, 'I
have this question to ask you but I don't know if I'm brave enough
to ask as you may say 'No'. ‘Well Rob, you have to ask me,' I said.
And he turned and asked, 'Would you like to do 'Pirates' with me
and Johnny?' I heard this and screamed. A very good scream. I
really love Rob and have longed to work with him again. I want to
kiss his feet."
Movie director Rob Marshall is not the only person that is close to
the actress' heart. Apparently, Hollywood hunk Johnny Depp is a
dear friend of hers as well: "Johnny is a great friend, so genuine
and unique. My memories of 'Blow'. Wow that was such an extreme
period. It was a wild set, very rock 'n' roll. I had missed working
with him."
Speaking about the experience while working on the set of the
“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” also triggered a few
memories from the times she was just starting out as an
actress:
"When I started, when I was 16 or 17, I never even considered not
doing a project. I just wanted to work. I knew who some of those I
would work with would be pleasant, and others would be these huge
a--holes.” However, things have greatly improved since then: “But
now, if there's one thing I can afford to do, having worked so hard
for all of these years, it's that if I go into a meeting with
someone that is offering me a movie and I can clearly see they are
going to be an a--hole, I will not do the movie. No matter what it
is."
While the famous franchise is yet another stepping stone on the road to success in her career, the actress has had another life changing event that caused her make a series of dramatic changes: the birth of her son, Leo. The experience of motherhood has made her appreciate popular wisdom as she herself states: "Everybody tells you things change. And then all those cliches, all those things you hear about having a baby and motherhood – all of them are true. And all of them are the most beautiful things you will ever experience. So yes, your priorities change. It's from the second you see that little face, your life has changed forever."
