Twilight's star Nikki Reed sits down for an interview with Self for the magazine's December 2011 issue. The beautiful 23-year-old actress dishes on the career she secretly wants, tattoos, her personal style and she also reveals a few Breaking Dawn fashion secrets.
Nikki Reed is featured inside the December 2011 issue of Self
magazine, rocking some incredibly beautiful, glamorous festive
party dresses. The 23-year-actress, who plays vampire Rosalie Hale
in the Twilight movies, sits down for a
chat and dishes on the career she secretly wants, tattoos, and she also
reveals a few Breaking Dawn fashion secrets.
Speaking about her personal style, Nikki told Self that, "My style
is very eclectic. I've picked up things from all the places I've
visited and lived around the world."
Reed also shared some of her healthy lifestyle habits. The young
actress confessed she quit smoking and she started exercising. "I
quit smoking two years ago, which is my biggest accomplishment.
When you do that, your whole lifestyle changes, like the places you
want to go to eat or the people you surround yourself with. I
started exercising and I hike almost every day with my dog. It's
incredible," she says.
The lovely actress also dished on her future plans admitting she
would love to have a jewelry line someday. "At some point I'd like
to have a jewelry line. The last place I lived was Greece so I got
really into the evil eye. It'd be cool to get an evil eye tattoo on
my outer wrist," Nikki said in the interview with the magazine.
The fourth movie in the Twilight series, 'Twilight Saga:
Breaking Dawn Part 1', opens November 18. Speaking about the
wedding scene dresses in the film, Nikki told the magazine that,
"At first, they were very secretive about our costumes for the
wedding scene [in Breaking Dawn], but they were very
glamourous."
"It was ice, rainy, cold, freezing, we were shooting in the night
and it would get muddy. I just remember we developed this technique
where we’d take a hair clip and clip the bottom of the huge train.
That was my look the whole night — a huge plastic sparkly hair clip
with this elegant dress," Nikki recalls.
What about Rosalie's dress? "Rosalie and I have such different
color palettes that work with us. Rosalie's blonde hair and fair
skin work really well with pastel-y colors, whereas I tend to not
wear those colors. I wear harder colors," the actress said.
Nikki told Self that the Cullen family is more into the modern
approach to fashion. "The Cullen family
tries to be a little more modern with their clothes. Ashley
[Greene, who plays Alice], Elizabeth [Reaser, who plays Esme] and I
were always trying to grab some pieces from the 1920s and 1930s.
Although in theory that was right, it made us stand out too much,
so we had to stick with wearing modern-day clothes," she said in
the interview.
The actress then added that, "Rosalie is more concerned with her
hair and makeup and how people view her than she is about the most
perfect little charm on her necklace. Alice cares more about the
details than Rosalie does."
