Miley Cyrus got a new portrait tattoo. This time the “Wrecking Ball” singer chose to honor her grandma with a beautiful black and grey portrait on her right forearm. For the special artwork, the star enlisted the services of famed tattoo artist Kat Von D, who specializes in these types of portraits.
Never one to keep a secret from her fans for too long, the star hinted she's getting a new ink as she retweeted a post made by the tattoo artist: “Yesterday was a day of making music, tattooing, and hangin w friends... Gonna repeat that today!” on her Twitter page.
Kat Von D was proud she was chosen for the meaningful artwork and unveiled several parts of the process. She emphasized she loved tattooing the star by writing “Love, love, loved tattooing you last night, @mileycyrus!” and sharing a picture of the work in progress and another one writing “Grandmas rule. @mileycyrus? #tattootime” which revealed three stages of the process of creating the intricate new portrait tattoo.
As soon as she shared her new portrait tattoo with her fans on social media she revealed the reason for her new choice “because I am her favorite & she is mine”, thus answering the questions her fans had about her new choice.
The moment for Miley's new tattoo wasn't chosen randomly. Today, the star shared a picture of her and her Mammie, as she likes to call her, emphasizing the fact that she has remained just as beautiful as in her youth, as she was represented in the tattoo: “Still just as beautiful. @thekatvond look who left the house today :) happy birthday Mammie”, the star wrote.
Though no details as to how her grandma feels about the new tattoo were disclosed yet, she looks extremely happy and proud, so it was probably a very nice surprise.
The former Disney star has an impressive number of tattoos already. In fact, this is tattoo no. 20 for the star. She has a large number of small tattoos: the words 'love', 'karma' and 'bad', a roman numeral, a cross and peace sign, “=”, the evil eye and an anchor's sign and “Om” symbol and a colorful sugar skull. She also has three quotes tattooed: 'just breathe', 'love never dies' and a famous quote by Theodore Roosevelt. Among her most visible tattoos are a curved tooth bone, a dreamcatcher motif and a pair of crossed arrows. Her Leonardo da Vinci's anatomical heart tattoo was also created by Kat von D, just like the new one.
