GQ, Elle, Flare. Now it's time for 'Glamour' UK to put Mila Kunis on the cover for the
magazine's September 2011 issue. The actress, who turns 28 this
month, opens up about her family, her positive spirit, but also
about rumors saying she dated her 'Friends with Benefits' co-star,
Justin Timberlake, and their 2011
MTV Movie Awards moment.
"He's incredibly funny, we laughed a lot on set. It’s an
unfortunate thing that comes with the circumstances, but there’s no
truth to it whatsoever," Mila says.
Then, what does she look for in a man? "Humour is an amazing
quality to have. I like sarcasm, satire, self-deprecating humour.
But I also think there’s something to be said for not looking for
anything and being pleasantly surprised."
Mila has always tried to avoid the 'gossip industry' and managed to
stay grounded. The stunning actress confesses that, "There was
never an option for me to go into a downward spiral, because my
parents are incredible people. I went to work, I went home, my
friends weren't in the industry. My best friend has been my best
friend since I was nine years old. So I never thought of myself as
anything other than a 15, 16, 17 year old. What I do and who I am
are not the same person. But sure, you can get lost in it. And it's
less to do with the job and more to do with the world. This
industry can eat you alive."
Despite her amazing looks, Mila is a self-confessed geek, who
loves video games, especially Grand Theft Auto and World of
Warcraft. Speaking about people finding her attractive, the
actress, who won Spike TV's Guys' Choice award this summer for the
Holy Grail of Hot, says that, "It's insane. Listen, I couldn't be
happier to get any of this, because I think it's hysterical and it
makes all my friends laugh. If somebody finds me attractive, God
bless them, I think it's fantastic."
The 'Black Swan' star has one brown and one green eye, although her
eye condition has lessened in time. "Now they're both pretty green,
but it's not like they were ever one blue, one brown. I wasn't
quite a husky," Mila told the magazine.
The actress lost 20lbs for her role in 'Black Swan' and she changed
her opinion on other people's weight loss issues. "I don't think I
ever fully realized what a human body is capable of doing. But I
think I was also, in a beautiful way, incredibly naïve. I believed
I could do anything. I never for one moment thought that I couldn’t
do it. I believe in hard work. In self-drive and self-worth. I’m a
huge foodie, I love food. But when people say, 'I can’t lose
weight', no no no, you can. Your body can do everything and
anything, you just have to want to do it," Kunis says.
On having a positive thinking, Mila states that, "I have to be. I'm
in an industry based on rejection. On negativity and let-downs.
People are rejected every single day purely based on opinion, about
who's a good actress, who's a bad actress, who's pretty, who's
ugly, who's fat, who's skinny. So why go there? You have to have a
positive outlook. Otherwise, you're in a very dark place."
As for being an actor, Mila says that, "No one’s curing cancer
in this industry, remember? It’s not changing the world. It’s just
entertainment, an art, a form of escapism. My friends and family
are my number one thing in life, but you need a healthy balance.
It’s not to say my goal in life is to have a family and kids, and
let that be my number one priority either. This is a phenomenal
job, but the most important lesson I’ve learned is that you never
want to let your only source of happiness come from something
that’s so filled with uncertainty."
But how does the Ukrainian-born actress spend her time when she's
not into the spotlight? Mila loves wine, Mai-Tais, In-N-Out
Burgers, swimming, lounging in her pyjamas, or playing Monopoly and
video games with her friends. "When I'm home with my friends,
that's exactly what I'm doing. With the curtains closed? No, the
curtains can be open! I enjoy the simple things in life. My back
yard. And if I wanna go out, I go out, but I don't need to go to
the hottest Hollywood club so people can see me. I'm not a big
attention-seeking person. I really don't need that type of
attention," she told in the interview.
