Megan Fox lands on
Cosmopolitan's April 2012 cover flaunting her sultry looks. Inside
the magazine, in the accompanying interview, the 25-year-old
'Friends With Kids' actress opens up about her tough-girl
reputation, her surprising new film roles and exploring her comedic
side onscreen, but also talks about love, her romantic life, and
having children.
"It's because I have tattoos and I say curse
words, and apparently, that's crazy. I think maybe I give off this
energy of seeming like I don't give a f***, and that's
misinterpreted. But I'm not wild," she says about her bad-girl
image. She then explains that, "I've gotten to the point where I
just laugh about it. The tabloids can say whatever they want. But
it's not me. I'm a homebody. My husband is my best friend. That's
who I really am."
If most of her career Megan has mostly played sexy, seductive
chicks, the gorgeous actress is now exploring her funny side. "I
didn't know what I wanted when I first started out in this
business. But I've made a conscious decision to do more comedies. I
really like that levity. I want to be around funny people and have
those on-set experiences," Fox says.
Speaking about this change and how the audience will receive it,
the actress confesses that, "I've never been afraid to do anything.
Maybe it's delusional but I have this profound sense of purpose
that I am supposed to do this and it's going to work out."
Megan explains that when pushed a little further, everything stands
in trusting her intuition. "I've done projects in the past that
didn't feel right while they were happening. It was nothing I could
put my finger on, but it just didn't seem like where I was supposed
to be. But these three movies felt right. I think it's important to
follow those instincts and to just go with it. It's less scary when
you have that strong gut feeling," she told the magazine.
On her love life and meeting her husband, actor Brian Austin Green,
Megan told Cosmopolitan that, "I didn't know who he was, since I
was too young for 'Beverly Hills 90210'. But the first time I saw
him, I got butterflies. And the first time he casually touched me?
There was so much electricity."
Fox was 18 when she met Green and he is 13 years older. The
actress admits that it wasn't easy at all but she is absolutely
sure that they were destined to be together. "We've had obstacles,
and we've overcome them. I truly feel like he's my soul mate. I
don't want to sound corny or cliché, but I do believe we are
destined to live this part of our lives together," she says.
Megan and Brian got married in a private ceremony in Hawaii having
just one guest, Brian's son, Kassius, from his previous
relationship. "I was always that girl who'd watch 'Say Yes to the
Dress' and be like 'Why the f*** are they crying?' But now that I'm
married? I turn that show on and cry hysterically with them," Fox
confesses.
Megan told the magazine that when it comes to going out they prefer
quiet places. "Sometimes, we'll drive to Malibu. It's pretty long
trek from where we live, so it feels like we are doing something
special. It's easy to just want to stay in because it's
comfortable. But I think couples need to mix it up. When we go out
to dinner, I find that I flirt with him in ways that I totally
don't do in the comfort of our home," the actress says.
On having kids, Megan admits that she definitely wants at least
two. "I want at least two, probably three. I've always been
maternal. That's another thing that people probably don't assume
about me."
