The well known tattoo artist Kat von D and Jessy James have decided to call off their engagement and broke up, shocking everyone in the process. Find out what the two stars declared concerning their decision.
The last couple of weeks have been full of surprises when it
comes to celebrity couples. After the shocking news that Jennifer Lopez
and Marc Anthony are getting divorced, another famous
couple, Kristin Cavallari
and Jay Cutler have also called off their engagement. Now,
another seemingly solid couple has decided to go on a similar
path.
LA tattoo artist Kat von D and Jesse James, who have been
dating since August 2010 and announced their engagement on January
20, 2011 seem to have reconsidered their decision and called off
the engagement. People magazine was the first to report the story.
Apparently, the two now former lovers have chosen to watch their
words closely during this difficult time for them both.
According to the magazine, Jesse James has expressed his sadness
and stated that he still has strong feelings for her: "I'm so sad
because I really love her," James told PEOPLE exclusively. "The
distance between us was just too much."
Kat von D on the other hand, chose to be much more brief and
secretive in regards to the reasons for this rather unexpected
decision and only confirmed the news via twitter by writing: "I am
no longer w Jesse," she writes, "and out of respect for him, his
family and myself, thats all the info I'd like to share. Thanks for
respecting that."
Apparently, this breakup will be a very civilized one, especially
if we take into account the peaceful comments made by both of the
stars, who expressed mutual respect.
However, despite the distance between the two (Jesse lives outside
of Austin, Texas while Kat lives in Los Angeles), there are still
many speculations that can be made on the topic, especially if
Jesse's amorous past is taken into account. Until additional
statements are made, however, we can only hope that the two will
have time and privacy to come to terms with their new status.
