The singer and ex-Project Runway host confirmed the rumors related to their separation for Us Weekly. The former couple claimed that:

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.

We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart.

This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."

Their harmonious relationship was marked by the birth of three biological children, Lou, 2, Johan, 5 and Henry 6. Heidi also has a 7 years old daughter Leni from a past relationship. As the divorce papers reveal the reasons for choosing different paths in their life are 'irreconcilable differences'. A friend also claimed to Us Weekly that, "They've had a very rough road lately. They're either madly in love or having crazy fights."
The celebrity couple also states that the most important thing for both of them is the safety of their children.
