According to Forbes, Gisele Bündchen is world's highest paid model of 2012 with $45 million earnings. The list also includes other moneymaking beauties such as Kate Moss, Adriana Lima, Natalia Vodianova, Doutzen Kroes and Alessandra Ambrosio.
is world's highest-paid model for the second year in a row.
According to the already known Forbes annual list of most
profitable models, the 31-yer-old Brazilian beauty earned $45
million from May 1st, 2011 to May 1st, 2012. Well, there's no
wonder whatsoever that every girl wants to be Gisele!
"The ones that are coming up, their model for excellence is Gisele. They’re looking at her and saying 'that’s what I want to shoot for,'" Ed Razek, chief marketing officer of Limited Brands told Forbes.
But how hard is it to find a girl with supermodel material? Razek explains. "In the entire history of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, 140 separate women have walked that runway," Razek says. "There are seven billion people on the planet. That makes each of them not one in a million, not one in five million, not one in ten million. That literally makes them one in 50 million humans."
Pantene, Esprit, Versace... Bündchen, who is pregnant with her second child, is definitely fashion industry's sweetheart. Coming up on distant second is British model Kate Moss with earnings of $9.2 million having some important gigs as the ones with Topshop, Longchamp, Mango, Rimmel, and Vogue Eyewear.
Russian model Natalia Vodianova was third with $8.6 million and
campaigns for Guerlain and Calvin Klein Euphoria fragrances.
Besides, the 30-year-old hottie also designs lingerie collections
for Etam and shoes for Centro.
Adriana Lima came fourth with $7.3 million due to her two Super
Bowl commercials, one for Kia and another, more seductive spot for
"Adriana’s a very modern, diverse beauty," said her agent, Chris Gay, president of Marilyn New York. "She’s an ethnic mix of a girl, where quite frankly because she has such a multi-racial, multi-cultural background, everybody is accepting of her. That has always been her huge benefit."
Dutch model Doutzen Kroes landed fifth place while Brazilian stunner Alessandra Ambrosio came sixth. The youngest model on the Forbes list is Candice Swanepoel, who only ranked 10th. However, it seems that the 23-year-old South-African beauty has all the chances to become a favorite and aim for top places. As for Heidi Klum, who last year ranked number two, she wasn't included on the list being considered more of a businesswoman rather than a model.
