Freida Pinto covers InStyle UK September 2011. The
'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' star looks gorgeous and luxurious
wearing Pucci, Chanel, Gucci, Jonathan Saunders and Givenchy. The
26-year-old actress dishes on 'Slumdog Millionaire' and her new
movie 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Speaking of Slumdog, Pinto
says that "Slumdog was phenomenal… I’ve not had an experience like
it since."
Besides, she also confesses how skypeing with boyfriend Dev Patel
is a tease and explains her love for Chanel.
"I tell you why I like Chanel so much: when I started off,
no one wanted to give me clothes to wear. Absolutely no one. All
the labels would say 'Who is she?' But Chanel believed in me from
the very beginning. For the very first red carpet I did at the 2008
Toronto Film Festival, they dressed me up in their very current
season collection. It’s a massive brand", Freida says.
As for Karl Lagerfeld, the actress states that, "I always have a
good time with Karl because he’s so appreciative and he wants me to
try different things".
In 2009, Freida started dating her 'Slumdog Millionaire' co-star
Dev Patel. Speaking about her boyfriend's style, the stunning
actress says that, "He’s not always bang-on. I buy for him all the
time – I got him some Sanchita and he really likes it. He’s got his
own very good sense of fashion. He loves his Burberry; he
wears it to most events – Burberry should give him a contract."
Freida also tells the magazine how she helped Patel develop an
authentic Mumbai accent. "Yes, with the accent, he was a bit
nervous. But all I told him was, 'Don’t do the whole 'Goodness
Gracious Me!' thing. That just makes it very comical and it’s not
required for Slumdog Millionaire."
Pinto reveals that she's nervous before seeing her boyfriend, even
when this happens on Skype. "We use it a lot – and we hate it as
well! It’s like a tease. I also feel it’s this pressure: 'Oh my
God, he’s seeing me after two weeks, I hope my hair is okay'. It’s
just hideous. I think even the most beautiful person looks stupid
on Skype," the actress told InStyle.
As for her latest role in 'Rise of The Planet of the Apes', Freida
says that, "One of the most beautiful scripts I read in 2010. I
didn’t watch the Tim Burton film and as for the older Charlton
Heston film – I walked into the living room once when my mum was
watching it, I just laughed and walked out! I was little and didn’t
understand it".
