Emma Watson was officially announced as Lancome's newest ambassador. The gorgeous 'Harry Potter' actress will represent the famous brand and will appear in a series of ad campaigns, following in the footsteps of other beautiful actresses like Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway and Penelope Cruz.
After releasing the People Tree
spring 2011 collection and after her collaboration with
Alberta Ferretti for the eco-friendly collection called
'Pure Threads', Emma Watson has signed for another major project.
The adorable 20-year-old 'Harry Potter' actress was named the new
face of the French beauty house Lancome.
Emma follows in the footsteps of other amazing actresses who
starred in campaigns for Lancome, like Kate Winslet, Julia Roberts,
Penelope Cruz, and Anne Hathaway. In a press statement, Youcef
Nabi, President of Lancôme International, says that the brand is
pleased to announce the arrival of Emma Watson as new ambassadress of
Lancôme.![]()
"Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity,
Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation. We are delighted
by this new collaboration with Emma who brings a fresh spirit to
Lancôme," Nabi said.
Nabi also added that, "This is a very important moment in Lancôme’s
history. Emma Watson is THE icon of her generation. She is followed
by Millions of Facebook fans around the world… She will perfectly
embody our brand with modernity and glamour."
On her new collaboration, Emma admits she is eager to start
shooting. "It’s so exciting, I can’t wait to start shooting.
Although I don’t wear much make-up, I’m a big fan of Lancôme
products, especially their mascara," she confesses.
It is worth mentioning that the ad campaigns will be made by the
one-and-only Mario Testino, one of the world's most famous fashion photographers, who created
campaigns for legendary brands, such as Versace, Gucci, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Dolce
& Gabbana, Estée Launder, Miu Miu, or Salvatore Ferragamo.
Emma, who is now promoting the final installment of 'Harry Potter'
set to be released on July 15, decided to take some time off from
Brown University and focus on her career. "I've decided to take a
bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the
last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other
professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards
my degree... it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer
than I thought," Emma wrote on her official website.
