With a total of five nominations, Amy Adams is still one of the celebrities who never won an Oscar. After her first Best Supporting actress nomination in 2005, she lost the statuette to Rachel Weisz, then Penélope Cruz, Melissa Leo, and Anne Hathaway. In 2014, she was nominated for Best Actress, but lost to Cate Blanchett.

Leonardo DiCaprio

His first Academy Award nomination was for Best Supporting Actor in 1994. Leonardo DiCaprio had to wait almost a decade before his next shot at an Oscar, and lost the Best Actor statuette in 2005, 2007 and 2014. Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker and Matthew McConaughey beat him to the prize.

Another actress who seems like she should have won an Academy Award, but never did, Julianne Moore was even nominated as Best Actress and Best Supporting actress in 2003. She lost both times and ended up as one of the celebrities who never won an Oscar, with no nominations in the past decade.
