Actress Anna Paquin graces the cover of Zooey Magazine, where the Oscar-winning star also shares private info regarding bisexuality, the pressure to look good in Hollywood and many more. Find out what the actress had to say by checking out excerpts of the interview with Zooey, next!
Canadian-born actress, Anna Paquin has received the highest awards in recognition of her work, an Academy Award, for her role in the movie 'The Piano' at only 11 years old and a Golden Globe in 2008 for her role in the popular TV series True Blood, so the now 29 year old actress has quite the resume to attest that she's quite talented. A quick glimpse at her stunning photo spread in Zooey, the magazine's April/May 2012 issue is all that is needed to be conquered by her beauty and style, so check out a selection of her photo spread for Zooey as well as excerpts of her interview with the magazine, as the actress gushes on her sexuality as well as the pressure of looking flawless in Hollywood.
The world was in shock in 2010, when Anna came out as bisexual,
a year after announcing her engagement to Stephen Moyer, but it
seems that the now mother-to-be couldn't be more comfortable about
who she is and her sexuality as she tells Zooey, in an exclusive
interview, that:
“I’m not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no
reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those
are issues I really care about. I’m sure for some people saying
they’re bisexual feels less scary than making a statement that
they’re gay. For me, it’s not really an issue because I’m someone
who believes being bisexual is actually a thing. It’s not made up.
It’s not a lack of decision. It’s not being greedy or numerous
other ignorant things I’ve heard at this point. For a bisexual,
it’s not about gender. That’s not the deciding factor for who
they’re attracted to.”
Anna announced she was bisexual in 2010 at a Give a Damn
campaign dedicated to LGBD equality, but tells the magazine, when
asked if she felt she has to sacrifice her privacy to make that
statement, that:
“Absolutely not. I think it’s a really minor biographical detail.
If you’re going to talk about some cause in a way that’s
meaningful, you should identify why it means something to you.”
Celebrities have on several occasions admitted to feeling the
pressure of looking a certain way in Hollywood and it seems that
Anna Paquin, who's always been a bit unconventional, reveals to
Zooey that she thinks that having 'a whole bunch of work done with
your teeth and your face and your boobs then you’re only going to
play modern people. That’s a big choice to make. Very
limiting.'
