Avril Lavigne is turning her creativity towards the beauty industry once again and teams up with Sally Hansen for a nail strips collection designed to bring out your inner rocker this spring. Get all the details on this captivating collab!
The new year announces to be a busy one for Avril Lavigne who,
aside from her own fashion and beauty brands is now preparing to
create a nail strips collection for the Sally Hansen brand as part
of the Salon Effects line. Inspired by Avril's style, the
collection set to be launched in April will have 12 nail designs and will be sold in
handy kits. The kits priced $9.99 will consist of 16 nail-polish
strips, a cuticle stick, a mini-file and buffer along with useful
instructions for at-home application.
The star sees this project as a fairly natural extension of her current projects for the industry: “This is pretty much the coolest thing, because I also do clothing — I love clothing, nails and fragrance, hair, makeup, all that stuff. I was really excited about the Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips — especially since they’re superquick. You clean your nails, peel the strips and apply them, file and go.
I’m superfast at it, so it takes me like five minutes to do my
nails. And it’s supercool because the designs that I came up with
are my personal style and vibe — they’re rock ’n’ roll and fun and
bright and colorful. You have sparkles and little stars — they are
cute. For me, I’ll be flying on a plane and be like, ‘Sh--, I need
to do my nails.’ I can do these on a plane; I’ve done them in the
car", the diva revealed for WWD.
Although targeted strongly towards the star's fans, the colorful collection is dedicated to all those who are looking for a simple yet ultra fun way to glam up their nails and express their personality.: “I’m a really visual person; I like creating, and I love to have fun with colors. I think this offers self-expression, and it’s a really smart, versatile way to show your style. I think my fans will really like it, because it’s easy and simple and fun.”
Sally Hansen company's representatives mention the fact that the latest initiative is part of the company's strategy for attracting a young customer base: “Avril is a pop music icon, but she has also become a fashion inspiration, known worldwide for her edgy, yet feminine style. We believe this new collection will appeal to Avril fans and trendsetters alike. She appeals to a younger generation of girls, which makes her a perfect fit for Salon Effects.”
With a successful fashion line and three globally sold fragrances it's pretty safe to put our hopes up and expect the best from the star. And, if things go well, we might even get to see a hair color line in the future as the star mentions her designer for such a project. But, until then fans of the star will have the opportunity to hear everything about the latest project from the star on her Twitter account.
