i need motivation

to quit the habit of smoking. telling me "its bad for me" and stuff wont work. people have told me but it just doesnt motivate me enough. any tips or wise words?

you will shorten your life your dying and everyone around you is going to live longer...and your prob losing friends cause they hate the smell of you when your around..and if not your prob hanging out with here it is

you need to stop unless you want to die and have your parents seeing your autopsy or your friends seeing it and them looking at your tar-d up lungs and your the hole in your throat. do you want them having that vision in their head for the rest of their lives? no, and also forget excersise cause soon you wont be able to breath enough to do it. then you wont be able to walk because you cant breath and then you will be in a wheel chair, with no friends, just a tar-d up liver and lungs, just sucking, and no breath with a hole in your throat so maybe now you should stop just to let you know what would happen

Everytime you have a craving, tell yourself 7 minutes...that's how much one cigarette takes away from your life. So let's say you smoke 5 cigarettes a day for a week (7 days) you've lost 245 minutes of your life, that's a little more than 4 hours.

I used to hang out with smokers at work and I found myself hooked after a while. I realized soon enough that I was in trouble as I was having bouts of asthma (it runs in our family but I thought I was the lucky one not to have it). Sure feels horrible not being able to breathe freely--it's like drowning!!

And by the way, I've also learned that asthma can be acquired through bad habits such as duh, smoking and not just inherited. That goes for a whole lot more of other chronic diseases, as well.

So if you plan to see your grandkids..quit! Do it gradually so as to avoid relapse.

lalala dunno!!! lol xD smoking is a yack habit..... My habit's like.... dunno I guess I bite my nails all the time... I would just think of how I can die smoking... But really, isn't that sooooo unhealthy??? I know a lot of people make mistakes and you're trying for better but honestly I agree with all of the answers.... You should really focus on one thing: why are you doing it??? Does it feel good smoking??? Does it calm you down when you're upset(I know a lot of people smoke cause of that and there's a replacement for that too... When you're angry just lie into your bed and bite your pillow and scream in it.... lol it works)... but to continue my answer... So, does it feel good after you do it??? Why?? Why?? Why?? Just ask yourself that and you'll be so confused that a cigarette won't calm you down, you'll have to bite the I know I'm not supposed to be kidding with that kinda stuff but it comes as I think... lol sorry.... Then ask yourself all those questions and I hope you'll find why and read all other answers cause they're good motivations.... lol I know I didn't help but I still hope I did something... lol bye :D

think of the ppl that you're mom smokes and i HATE it...not just because of the cigarette, but i get headaches because of it, and she doesn't seem to care (when my dad is home, she won't smoke in the house or the car...but when he's gone, and it's just me and my sisters, she'll smoke inside) ARG!
