i part my bangs in the front that I am going to make my bump and i spray the back of my bangs that way the front of my bangs dont look all hard from the hairspray...then i tease the crap out of my bangs to make a bump then i either use a little clippy or bobby pins to pin my bump back....then slick the sides of your hair when your pulling your hair back...put in a pony tail and tease the hell out of your pony tail...wala there is your bump it pony tail! :)

you need to take a thick section of hair in front of where you're going to place the bump it (which is right in front of where your final ponytail is going to be)

when you go to make your ponytail just pull the hair on top of your head back first and place the bump it near the back, then pull the hair up on the sides, then the bottom. just go slow and makes sure the bump it is covered well then put your pony holder in, you can put some hair spray donw under the bump it to help it hold better but it's not required.
