You /can/ put dreadlocks in your hair BUT understand that some people might get bothered by it. Do you understand the cultural significance behind it? Do you understand all that it entails? Some people may view it as cultural appropriation and get offended if you turn their culture into a trend. I'm talking about the Rastafarian culture. I want you to at least be aware of that, and what you may possibly encounter if you want to wear dreads.

If you're not willing to understand all cultural implications of this thing, then you should probably not wear it.....just like the native american headdress, someone else's culture is not simply a trend. If you want to appreciate the culture and wear x, y, or z, you must first understand it and face it with a bit of humility.

For more information: This shows all sides of how people feel about said locks

I don't really have any thoughts on this. In the end, if you want to do it, go on and do it, but be aware of the territory you may be treading upon.

Thanks for the links (: and I live in a small town in louisiana. There are no rastafarian people around here, trust me. And it DEFINITELY won't become a trend. I like dreaded and I think they are very unique and pretty. So, yeah.. i think I'm going to do it.
