Can anyone help me determine my body shape and give me fashion tips for my shape?

Hi all!

Im trying to find out my body shape, but I cant figure it out, I need some help!

I did some measurements here they are:

Shoulders 35.4 inch, waist 24.4 inch, hips 35.4 inch, bust 31.5 inch, weight 95lbs, height 5"1.

Let me know what body shape you think I have, I greatly appreciate it! I finally want to wear some clothes that flatter my body shape, so please help me out :)

I'm a Mesomorph: I don't really know the measurements of you but I found out what body type I was from this site:

I believe you are a petite pear shape though.

i would say you're an hourglass shape (with broad shoulders) since you have a fairly small waist. you're built petite and because of that you can get away with almost anything, clothes-wise. now depending on the proportion on your torso and legs, you should learn to scheme pieces so that you'd appear taller and more of a streamlined look. as a general rule, avoid busy patterns/prints in huge doses as it can overwhelm your tiny frame.

i'm shaped similar i love cute jeans usually bootcut that make my butt look round and not squashed lol

long tshirts that are girl cut. as in fitted around the body well and small sleves, it can be regular tshirts or nicer silky shirts.

i also like skirts or dresses that have a vneck and are wavy at the bottom not always just blunt across and if they are i like that silky material so they still seem to swirl and fall around my knees

Hi Kimi,

I agree with Mistress1209 based on your measuerments and your height your body shape is a petite hourglass. Your proportions, meaning the length of your legs in relation to your torso, is also important. The general rule with proportion is either "short over long" or "long over short". The way to tell which one you are is to measure the distance between your bottom rib and the top of your hip bone. If the distance is less than 4 inches, then you are short waisted, more than four inches your and long waisted and if it's 4 then you are proportioned. So for example if your torso (upper body) is shorter than your legs, then to balance out your frame you would want to wear longer tops such as tunics. If your torso is longer than your legs, than you want to wear cropped (shorter) tops.

As far as prints go, you can wear prints and patterns but it needs to be in proportion with your body frame. Since you are petite your prints and patterns should also be on a small scale.

What jod_mets is talking about is your body type. Your body type basically deals with the way/where you gain weight (which affects your body measurements).

As far as what clothing will flatter you, look for peices that falls (skims) over your curves. A celebrity who shares the same shape is Eva Longoria. Look for dresses and skirts (such as pencil skirts) that are nipped at your waist, fitted tops and jackets with seams and darts, jeans can be straight leg or flared and monochromatic seperates that give you the appearance of being taller.

The images are just examples for fit and not for style.

Hello... This is a nice easy readable website that explains body shapes: As far as your measurements you sound wonderful. We all have something we don't like about our shape or wish was different but you sound perfect.... But an even better site that allows you to choose your shape from approx 7 shapes then helps you clarify what would best suit you from blouses to pants to coats and even underwear. I think you will find it very very useful. Best of luck to you!
