i moved from a tini tiny school to a bigger school last year (my freshman year) and i didn't know a soul. lol. the first day was awkward, you know, walking around alone feeling like a chum. but it wasn't that bad. i mean, people don't say anything to you or think you're like a freak if you're alone, so don't worry about that. as for friends, the first person i really talked to (who is now my BFF) i met in fourth period, and she was new also. i didn't sit with anyone at lunch that first day, which seriously, sounds like it's really awful, but i don't really remember it being so terrible all that much. just don't be shy, talk at an acceptable volume when speaking with people, and look them in the eye and smile when you think it fits! like, i know going to a new, big school sounds intimidating, and it is, but, like, once you're there, it's not that bad. you'll find people to be friends within your classes, and you won't be alone for long. trust me, i was really shy and quiet and not talkative, and though it is hard to make friends, i found some really fast. just don't worry about it, don't think to hard, and you will be absolutely FINE!

good luck!!

i started a new school last year too(high school). i was so nervous about not making any friends, but when i got there by my first class i knew soo many people. don't worry about not being able to talk to anybody, usually if theres a new girl people are curious and want to know more about you, so they start a conversation. like jessie_girl i also met my best friend that day. as for looking confident, wear something that you feel comfy in, like you lucky bracelet or your fave jeans. when your walking in the hallways, don't look down and stand up straight. usually the office is really helpful with new students, so ask if you can have a map of the school to stash in your binder so you don't risk getting lost. have funa nd soon it will get easier!

I started high school last year, and i totally get were your coming from. But if you think about it! Every one is in the same situation as you! So theres probably a few hundred kids who are thinking the exact same things as you right now! All you need is a tad of confidence. focus on your breathing if your getting a bit worked up. and remember to smile if somebody looks at you, that way they'l see how nice you are and hopefully come over for a chat, this one takes a few try's but i found it very useful! Just remember not to do an OTT cheesey grin, lol. Try to focus on your actual school work for the first few days while you settle in, then start thinking about the social sides of things. Tbh, you'll probably find you've already made some friends without any effort. When teachers are talking to you, remember FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT! keep eye contact and smile! Just believe in yourself. Act natural, and everything will be okayy, seriously, its not half as bad as you think! I hope i've helped!

Emma (:
