How can i talk to my friend in this upsetting situation?

I just found out that my friend was gang raped today right outside her dance studio! Her mom called me after she got a call from the police about it. I know how hard this is going to be for my friend and I'm not sure what to do the next time I see her. How will I know if this is something she wants to talk about and what's going to happen to her????? I'm so upset and I have no idea what to do for my friend. Please help me.

Just act like nothing has happened.. remember your trying to keep her mind off what happened. And if she does bring the subject back just say *being sad about this won't change what happened yesterday so you might aswell live in the moment* reassure her that you'll be there no matter what happens and none of this was her fault (was it?)

sooo yhh excuse me while i puke(soz i'm jus really disgusted and sad about wht happened to her)

I totally agree with gosupermodel_is_back....don't mention anything about it unless if she brings it up. Act like nothings happened...if she does bring it up reassure her that everythings going to be and you'll be there for her. I'm sorry for what happened to her.

this is really sad:( hmm im trying to imagine if i were in her situaion how would i feel and if i would want my friend to bring it up, but i cant imagine something so terrible. when you see her i would just give her a big hug and not say anyhing, cause shes gonna be emberrassed and probably ashamed and think its her fault. if she does bring it up or gets emotional just let her know your there for her and if she needs someone to talk to youll always be there, if she doesnt bring it up or anything try to do something fun, but dont act all weird because all she would probably see is pity, and i dont think anyone wants that. i hope i made sense and im really sorry:(

well, I don't actually suggest to act like nothing happened. it DID happen. you can't ignore that. just be there for her. and make sure she knows that you'll be ther efor her no matter what. I agree with vampkisses-hug her, she'll appreciate it. don't bring it up if she doesn't bring it up. but if she starts to talk about it, listen, hug, be there-trust me, no need to worry, you'll know what to do when the moment comes. (:

that's so sad indeed...i'm joining in the chorus and say don't mention it to her until she brings it up. it has happened, the most you can do is be there for her, listen and be the friend you always were.

i would start with giving her mom a letter to give her

just keep it basic

i love you, i care for you. i don't want to hurt you. if you want to talk i'm here if you don't i'm still here.

call me when you're ready for me to be there cause i'm always here for you
