Computer troubles... :P

I spilled water on my laptop about 2 days ago and immediatley turned it off and wiped it off with a towel out of common sense. Then I looked it up on my mom's laptop and it said to take out the battery and let it dry for at least 48 hours, which I did. It still won't turn on. Is there anything else I can do that won't hurt my computer before I need to have it fixed by a professional? I was thinking something like a reboot button but I don't know if that exists haha. So thanks for any help you can offer.

Well, this sounds silly I know, but did you try removing the battery and running it out of an AC power outlet? If not, try it because, if it works, then maybe you would just have to replace the battery. That isn't real cheap, but lots better than paying for repair (or worse) buying a new laptop. The on-off button is a kind of reboot button but I don't know of a special magic reboot button :D. If that doesn't work, you could take it to the place you bought it (if you didn't get it online) and see if they have any ideas.

You seemed to do the right stuff after it happened. The only thing I would have done that you didn't is use a hair dryer (all purpose tool :p) on the keys n stuff. Unfortunately water and electronics are like total enemies and water damage isn't covered by most warranties. I once dropped a digital camera in a tub of bubble bath and it was totally ruined even though I took it out right away.

Good luck, I hope it works out :)))))
