Special K diet; does it really work?

I was recently thinking of going on the special K diet, and working out every day for a half hour. I already do 100 crunches (or at least I think I am doing them/ doing them right) every morning when I get out of the shower. I have yoga every thursday, but that stops next week. And I started to run on my eliptical (sp??) trainer. I don't know if that is building muscle on my legs, or loosing fat, but I stopped because it felt like I was getting alot of muscle and not loosing any fat. Is that true? Please help me.

if you're looking to loose weight and not build too much muscle you need high rep, low weight. running is good but don't do up-hill type stuff, just keep it a steady jog.

the special k diet is just as good as any,

you need to eat well balanced meals, drinks plenty of water, and do your bit of exercise every day. (30 mins should be enough you can even skip a few days every now and then)

I tried the Special K diet for 2 1/2 months. I didn't lose a single pound, or a single inch. I just ended up getting wayy tired of their cereal. =/ The strawberry kiwi protein water is delish, though! =]
