What I do is while in the shower I wash my hair first then place my conditioner in. I put my hair up in a clip then you can cover with a shower cap to intensify the heat. Then I continue to finish my shower routine. The steam and heat helps the conditioner penetrate deeper into your hair's cuticles and shaft. I just use Dove intensive hair treatment. The conditioner is in my hair for about 15-20 mins... however long it takes me to shower. Then when I am done... I rinse my hair with cold water. This helps to close your cuticles immediately to lock in the moisture. ( you can do a more intensive treatment by leaving the conditioner in you leave the shower cap on... I have taken a blow dryer to add heat while out of the shower.)
