okay so every one says trimimng your hair is good.

i no getting rid of brakages n splitends (if they are the same opps) but do you really need to trim it?

also why do they say it helps your hair grow i really dont think it does because our cutting you ends not your roots.....

when you trim your hair (getting rid of split ends) you're cutting off the dead/split/damages ends. allowing new ones to grow.

when you se heat on your hair it often pulls dead ends off-making your hair shorted. But if you dont have dead ends to be pulled/broken off then your hair will keep growing.

i think that makes sence :S

well you can let it untrimmed but your hair will feel dry and it will be sooo damaged!

i recommend getting trims every 2 months or so.

and it does not make your hair grow it makes your hair healthy so that the new hairs will be healthy.

oh god:S

sorry if my anwser wasnt really clear!

Technically trimming your hair does not do anything to your hair's natural growth process. A healthy person will see an average of 1/2" hair growth a month in the winter and a bit more growth per month in the summer. People tend to be more active in the summer and more sedentary in the winter. Your hair growth is stimulated by the circulation in your scalp.

Exercise stimulates your circulation.

So the more exercise you get and the more often you go in the beauty shop the more your head is being massaged etc., the faster your hair will tend to grow. Now you can give yourself a scalp massage at home and get more exercise and drink lot's of water (taking vitamins can also help your hair grow faster - hair and nails like calcium). All of this will help - but if you do not get your hair trimmed regularly - your ends will start to split.

No matter how well you take care of your hair - hair is dead and it needs to be trimmed. The sun and other environmental factors affect the hair on your head. The more often you go in to get your hair trimmed - the healthier your hair will look. Some people think that this is what is making their hair grow faster - really it is just maintaining the integrity of the hair you have. Chances are if you go for too long without a trim - when you go in to get a trim they will have to take a few inches off just to get all of the "dead" ends off. If you go in every 3 months or so and just get a 1/2" taken off - the faster it will seem your hair is growing out - and the healthier your hair will be!
