Man Scene Hair Cut Question

I'm trying to get my hair longer if possible not cutting any hair letting it grow up. I do like the Criss Angel scene hair look it's been something I always have been interested in.

My hair is basically natural curly and I have to take it to the hair salon here locally to have the hair stylist straighten it out for me! I do have my own CHI flat iron and Sexy Hair straightening shampoo and conditioner, I never knew what to buy as far as straightening balm and I do have the S Factor heat protected spray plus I do have Bumble & Bumble tonic lotion after I get done shampooing and conditioning my hair. Do I really need the hair clips to section off my hair for when I blow dry my hair and straightening I keep being told yes and no? I have no idea who to believe

What would you guys and ladies recommend? The picture I added of me was taken about 2 minutes ago so you can see it's curly on the bangs, sides and some what on the lower back side by my back side

Thanks Jamie (UniqueLife)

i have straight hair when i comb through it after the shower and let it dry but when it's shorter i have a bit of a wave or if i just let it air dry w/o combing it

when i use the flat iron i spray my stuff (i don't use the shampoo or condintioner) then i straighten my hair in small sections *which takes forever because i have really thick hair* and when you get done spray it with hair spray to help it hold

you only need the clips if you can keep track of which pieces you've straightened

In my opinion the hair clips help. that way when you blow dry the hair using a comb you can get rid of the curl a little bit , thus making the straightening process easier. The hair clips also help keep better track of the sections you already straightened.

i would suggest clips for blowdrying it helps heaps

i'm still newb at doin my hair and found that the clips really help

but if you don't want to their not necessary jst make life a lil easier for me i guess

Yeah I don't invest half as much care into protecting my hair from heat damage as you, but good for wanting to keep your hair healthy. The clips just make straightening ALOT easier. And just any clip that separates sections of hair and layers will do. When try to straighten everything in one big mass of hair it's impossible because there are 3 layers that need to be straightened and I can't get them all. With clips you can hold one out of your face to easily straighten the layers underneath, so you can get your hair straighter faster than attempting to straighten everything at the same time.
