What is smoking like? There is a lot of people in my town that smokes at the low age of 12. I'm 12 myself and I know what smoking can do but I want to try it. Can someone who has experienced smoking help me out?! Please! what happened the first time you smoked? Anything BAD happen? Is it noticeable the first time you smoke? see, my parents smoke A LOT and I know how addicting it is! Should I do it? Should I really smoke like the other 1/3 of the high school does? :( idk...I'm so embarresed for asking this question becuz I know yall are going to comment about my age.

You already know the effects of smoking so I won't get into that. I smoked for 12 years and finally quit when I got pregnant with my son. For the first week that I smoked, it burned my throat and made me a little nauseous...don't ask me why I continued to do it lol...anyway...after about a year of smoking I was constantly coughing, out of breath when I tried to exercise, etc. It was the worst thing I could have done. I tried quitting on and off for years and it was impossible for me. Withdrawal causes severe mood swings, nausea, dizziness, and the worst headaches ever. Like I said, I quit when I got pregnant so that made it much easier for me. Please don't start. It is not worth it at all.

I agree with nmorandmb. I haven't smoked before but you hear all these horror stories and I have seen firsthand what a Liver and lung of a smoker looks like and trust me its not pretty. Avoid smoking its terrible for your health and for your skin

Not only is smoking really unhealthy, which you already know, it's also super gross. I can smell smoke on a person when they even just walk past me, and it almost always makes me retch. Smokers always have stringy hair, yellow teeth and fingers, and ash tray breath. But let's just talk about what it's like. I tried it when I was 16. Both my parents and my sister smoked, and many of my friends, and I felt like I had to in order to fit in. So, I bought a pack and gave it a whirl. I hated it. It made me feel sick, made my lungs and throat burn, and made me dizzy. I stopped after just one cigarette. I talked to my friends about it and said "look, I just can't get into this. I'll still hang out with you and even come outside while you smoke, but I won't do it." They were fine with that. They just wanted to hang out with me, and didn't care whether I smoked. So, there you go. Not worth it.

I'm not gonna lecture you about smoking because its only natural you are curious and everyone is entitled to make their own decisions. But make sure you do exactly that. Make your OWN decision. As well as the obvious health concerns and the smell, there are other issues with smoking.
I had my first cigarette at 13 and I did it because some of my friends did it too. I thought it was pretty cool and no way was I ever going to get addicted. But smoking isn't selective, it gets everybody. I haven't smoked since I was 16 and im 18 now and sometimes I crave it even now, after two years! It always catches me off guard and its unnerving.
Plus it made my clothes smell disgusting, but the cincher for me was the money I spent on cigarettes.
In the year I smoked intensively, about 1 or 2 packets a week, at roughly £6 each, I blew all my money. If I didn't smoke i'd be about £600 richer right now. I would even stoop so low as to steal money from my mums purse.
How much was my friends first car? £650. I'd trade a years worth of cigarettes for a car any day.
Trust me, there are better uses for your money :)

Thanks guys. This really means a lot. I can't tell you how thankful I am about how much you guys care. I want what's best for my life and I think yall are right. Smoking won't make life any better. My mom is addicted to them and she says she's "dying for a ciggarette" and it kinda bothers me. i see how it's like for her when she spends all her money on cigars and then she runs out and she turns to a completely meaner person when she doesn't smoke because she's used to it. Again, thank you guys. Honestly, I'm only 12 and I rather smoke when I'm older. I probably won't even do that! But thanks,it means a lot. :)

i have never smoked and dont really plan to but when i was 13 we did a survey in my village and 87% of 155 people questioned said that they regret smoking, 7% have never smoked and 6% said that they enjoyed it. you can see how many people smoke just because it is addictive and only a small amount of people actually enjoy it (in my village)

Okay so im 12 I have smoked , and I get a head ache after im sober and it leaves your mouth extremely dry also if its ur first time try to do it when ur most relaxed because you dont want ur heart rate to go to fast . I suggest not smoking but if u do weed/marijuana is better because it doesnt get u addicted like cigars , good luck and becareful
