So I'm fifteen, and I'm a sophomore. I love to draw and paint, it keeps me from going absolutely insane with my brothers running around bugging me all the time. its the only thing that gives me peace. && I love to write, moreso love stories and other things, but I put a lot of my stuff on

How to stand out more?

At school I feel like I'm in the other peoples shadow. I try so hard to stand out...not by clothes or makeup but by talking more. But its so wierd....and I want people to notice me a little bit more. How do I do that w/o makeup r clothes?

alot of times school is just a social contest. if you're not popular you're not going to be noticed by everyone. but the thing is the people that are most important know you're there and they love you for who you are.

in my school the less i started worring about what other people thought and the more i just did 'me' the better it got because people could see how fun i was to take to (even if it was just certain classes

I totally agree with BarbiPiXi. Im still at school and im not extremely popular, but to be fair I would'nt want to be. The 'popular' girls in my school go through alot worse than what I do, there not very nice people and don't go around doing good things either, I wouldn't want to mix with the bad crowd. I've learnt that you shouldn't waste time trying to get popular, all the really matters is the ones closest to you, the friends you can really trust and value. :)

I also agree, for some reason in school people always try to compete on popularity. My senior class was 1,600 students soo popularity was hard. Everyone just had their own groups of friends. And truthfully, once you are out of school.... no one cares who WAS who. No one really remember highschool anymore. So I believe you should just focus on your friends and the people who you can be the real you around. They are the ones who care about you and like you for who you are and not someone else.

well, what's the response you get by talking more? do people talk back enthusiastically or do they look at you strange and not say anything back? do you butt into conversations or anything?

but what i've pretty much noticed is that if you have it, you have it... the girls that are popular have been treated like royalty all their life, and when they expect it from everyone, they get it (even at school). it's the way you hold yourself, not the way you dress or the makeup you wear. you're never going to be the Queen Bee, so i'd stop trying and just go with the flow. make some new friends, ones that aren't everyone's best friend (you know what i mean by these people). i'm a freshman, and from what i can tell, none of the social classes are going to continue after high school... who cares if you were popular or not? what only matters are the friends you make and the experiences you have, good and bad and in-between.

by the way... the more popular you are, the more people tend to hate you, so i'd maybe rethink the whole stand-out thing.... hehe. but really and truly, just have fun :3

hey, i'm a freshmen too...but I'm not really looking to be popular, I just want ppl to know I'm there. One girl didnt even know I was in her class until the day before christmas break, and i sit behind her! And the "queen bee" at my school isnt like tht, she doesnt expect anything and everything given it to her...really none of them are like tht. All the popular girls, except for maybe 6 of them, are actually really its different...and i dont want to ditch my friends, i love them too...but wat I want is for more ppl to notice tht Im right there, you know?
