i'm pretty sure Mizani has a curling cream and regimen for people with hair that naturally curls or is soft it makes them more defined, my mom used it once and it made her hair like that except more of a spanish curl. Your best bet to achieve those would be to either get a texturizer and then curl it like so or have naturally soft hair which curls itself. Gel won't do much if your hair can't be curled and hold that curl shape or isn't light enough to create defined curls. you could also try while your hair is wet putting it in corkscrew rollers which could make the shape but it would have to hold that shape , with mouse or some hair spray or something. o.o

i know it's easier to get a spiral perm

then use gel to help separate the curls when you style

but i'm not sure about just a gel by it's self.

when you wet your hair does it just puff or does it spiral like smilar to the pic in some sections

if it spirals when wet then just add normal gel and scrunch it till it drys under a blow dryer don't brush it

if not you probly will have to get that perm to train your hair on what you want it do to

yeah, mostly any gel will work, you just have to keep scrunching

choose a product with a creamy, glossy consistency.. they usually work best on brining out natural curls. i'm not so sure about gels though. I've tried the water-based type and my hair ended up all frizzy at the end of the day.

check out if you have any more questions --->

You can get 100% Aloe Vera Gel at your whole foods store.

You can order Kinky Curly Curling Custard (expensive though)

Afro Veda Pur Whipped Gelly

Try the Herbal Essences gels

EcoStyler Gel

You can use gels to bring out your NATURAL curl pattern. This means if you have spirals, gel will make those spirals pop. If you have tight, really small coils that go in different directions, it will make that pattern more defined. Gel can't change how your hair naturally curls, it just defines what you have. So what looks like an afro is really a dried version of curls...using gel just makes it noticeable what kind of curls you have.

It can make your hair lay down a bit more, because it's gathering the curls into chunks and weighing them down. To apply gel properly, use the RAKING technique. Section by section on WET hair, smooth the gel through from root to tip, holding the section straight out. Repeat that motion, and when you let go, you'll see your hair strands group together and the gel defines the curl pattern that you naturally have.

good luck, hope this helped :)
