I\'m going to try something.. and I need YOUR help!

After I had a little conversation with a friend of mine, I've decided, out of pure experimentation and curiosity, that I'm going to go goth for a day. I can't dye my hair, and I don't know if I can get a lot of goth clothes, but I might see what I can do. I know you'll probably say I'm a poser or I can't just BE goth, but I want to try. I want to see people's reactions. Please help me though! What do I have to wear, do, say etc.? I know I sound SO poserish, but this is just an experiment which I bet 99.9% won't follow through. Help me out here girlies! xD

Listen to Gothic music. If someone is giving you trouble then just walk away and don’t be violent. Don't try to act or feel depressed just because you think that makes you more goth, it does not. Be polite toward normal people; just because some of them think you're a freak doesn't mean everyone do. First put on base. Then add heavy black eyeliner to your upper and lower waterlines. Apply fluidline to your lids and blend out harsh lines. Appy with a Q-tip under your lower lashes. Apply a dark eyeshadow to your lid from your lash line to the lower part of the crease. Apply a puplish toned eyeshadow to your crease and blend. Add a dark lipstick and there you go !

Listen to some sisters of mercy, switchblade symphony, frontline assembly, read blogs that talk about the yearly 'gathering', also blogs talking about the anne rice ball, anne rices interview with a vampire series is also some good reading ...

Look wise I would go through your wardrobe see if you have anything even if its just one piece that could be gothic looking, take the piece and buy a few other items that give it a 'more goth' feeling. This way it will at least reflect your personality a little, the first piece after all was something you had already your just using it in a new way.

Wigs are good for dramatic hair changes. I know a good one can be expensive but maybe a party costume rental place could rent you a decent one?

Do a little research watch other 'goths' at your school, watch gothic kid blogs on youtube, don't do creepy stalking lol just watching and maybe talk to them a little.

Try your new persona out in some easy places first. Some ideas maybe dress up and go to mall for an hour, do the girls at the MAC store treat you different? Are they recommending different products than they do when your 'normal'?

Go to food court. Go to upscale store. Go to music store. Go to a hot topic type store. Once you've got comfortable with it in small doses, you'll likely find that the way other people treat you, who don't know you, will have a huge effect on how you interact with them and the world!

So what if its poserish... its not you being goth, its you dressing and interacting with others for a few days ,,,, so yeah your posing your experimenting and some might not be nice about that. Just let them know your trying something new and different and stepping outside of what is normal for you and your sorry they feel intimidated by someone willing to try new things and not worry about labels!
