Heres some pictures to give you ideas.
I think if you have/get side bangs & straighten them (like the 1's in the 3rd pic) it'll look more scene.

i posted pics of scene hair with long bags, more like side bangs because since your hair is curly you don't want it too short or it can scrunch up a lot and style weird.
I think side bangs.longer bangs work best. I have curly hair myself and long bangs are easy to manage and when you curl your hair naturally or if you put product in your hair it will wave itself nicely. If you straighten the bangs they will look really nice also :)
Also, with scene hair, it is best to get a couple layers in your hair to help add volume :)

Pic 1 shows how long layers are and the volume it can do
Pic 2 shows long layers and bangs and it is sort of a wavy look but i think it would look adorable with your curly hair :)
Lastly, Pic 3 shows you the possibility of how your hair can turn it, almost like combining pic 2 and 3. It appears wavy/curly because of the layers and long side swept bangs but since there are layers it is easy to style, you can scrunch your hair curly or while your hair is slightly damp, you can work some curl product or wax product in your hair to achieve the styles show and you can control the direction of where things go :)
all these pics in my opinion will look amazing when you curl your hair and you straighten or not straighten the bangs :)

p.s. the last pic shows the two products i use to tame my curls and help achieve scene looks. The wax help me put together the direction the pieces of hair are going and help side swept or front swept bangs hold still and the serum liquid softens up the hair so it won't be hard or really stiff from the wax.

hope this helps and good luck!! :D
