you mean like cosmotology school? i wish i could go do looking into it now, but my best friend did it and loves it. it took aro9und two years ta the very most to start school then find a job and she is very busy with clients. but she does work longer hours and harder hours than people who have college degrees. plus she was lucky to find a good job at a high end salon where tips are better, and clientel is easier to obtain.if you have the act scores, resources, money, and time, i would suggest not to throw college out the window, because a lot more options would be open for you to do for the rest of your life. its an investment. but its very very important you do something youre going to enjoy too, so just keep all that into consideration good luck!

So do you want to become an esthetician? I think it would be a great career once you begin working and build a clientele. What area do you like most? then you can specialize in that area.

so you'd be like a dr for the skin basically lol

i know it sounds cool learning to do all that stuff that's a bit more technical than doing hair and makeup on a medical level

i went to cosmetology school for like a day (it's more of a vocational thing rather than a college thing)

here is a link to beauty therapy for those who don't know

and of course in cosmetology school you'd learn hair cutting, color, style, perm. then the basics of nails and makeup

it's less fun then it sounds. there's a lot more technical/buisness stuff then just doing other ppl's har and makeup, though i'd say go for it, if you're really devoted then you can do great things! :)

ps there's nothing to say which one you could make more at but i'd guess you could get paid better as the college goer but in cosmetology school it's more like learning a trade on hand less book work a vocational school is like for learning to cook or work with metal and stuff. lots of on hand and easier for some people to leap right into the work force

i'm not doing my beauty program through college, but i can tell you that going to beauty school was a great decision for me (especially attending a paul mitchell school!) i'm only a few months away from getting my cosmetology license in nevada. i'll probably get more schooling in skin/makeup, but i know i wouldn't rather be doing anything else at the end of the day. :) it's hard work, don't get me wrong. i'm at school 5 days a week, 8+ hours a day. but it's only a year program, and you learn so much more than hair. they teach you attitude, esteem, etc.

i would do it. :)
