you do a base before you highlight.

basically apply the colour base you want, and then bleach or darken after youve dyed the whole of your hair as normal :)

if you are happy with your natural hair colour as a base and just want to highlight, then just highlight. :) xo

Dont dye your hair all over first this is a big no no!!!!! If you do this your are damaging your hair for no reason and you are also making it difficult to lighten the hair agin to blond you would have to use a strong peroxide and bleach. You have to put the highlights in first and then put the colour in between not forgetting the roots of your foils. And loreal profeesional 5.15 is a beautifull dark chocolate brown witch looks amazing with white or golden highlights also if the ends of your highlighted hair is not the same as the top you wont see this if you use this colour.

yea always do a base before you highlight

also there are boxes of color now (just a few it's a big red box) that come with the brown base color and a lighter color you can do all at once. look for that at walmart it'll talk you through how to paint on the highlights and everything
