Fitness help!

Hey! Okay, I'm 18 and thin but I like to work out to gain muscle mass and look more tone. Do you know of any workout dvds that are geared toward me? I do Denise Austin and I really like her but I feel I need something a bit different. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

i am also thin. i love to do pilates and dance. it's so much fun that sometimes it doesn't even fceel like working out :D

Try some dance-based exercise videos or some power yoga! They're great for giving you a balanced workout so you strengthen your core and give support to the muscles you're building. If you just dive into muscle building, your body can become unbalanced and lead to pain and joint problems. If you want to go for something really intense I loved doing P-90X and insanity! They were a ton of fun, but you should be careful not to overdo it and injure yourself!!

To gain lean muscle mass you need to make sure your diet is also geared towards that goal. Resistance training is the key and training with your own body weight can be very effective. Compound exercises are ideal to gain muscle mass; squats, lunges, press ups, prone flies are just some of them. The trick is to go for 11 reps, 4 sets with 60 seconds rest in between with the resistance being fairly high, for each exercise. Bearing this in mind mizunohi is right, you need a balanced workout regime that includes training your core, improving your posture as well as your muscle gain training.
