Any Chemical process is not good for your hair, Although there are many reasons why people do this to their hair. You can enhance your exsiting color, accentuate a haircut or just self-expression. This alll depends on what your hair color is to begin with. Using a 20 volume developer will lift your hair 2 levels without damaging your hair like a 40 volume would. There are many ways to change your hair without doing substantial damage. Find a stylist that is through on your consultation. That is the best way to be happy with changes to your hair. They should be knowlegdeable and make you feel great about your hair!

my hair has highlights

at first it seemed fine but after about the third time i got it highlighted my hair started to break

but i still get it done because i dont like the darker color of my hair

as long as you don't leave in the hair dye too long it'll be fine
