At-Home Hair Highlighting Kits?

I was just wondering if there are any at-home hair highlighting kits that would work well for medium brown hair. I've had my hair professionally highlighted but it's too expensive so my parents won't pay for me to have it done again. I used a Herbal Essence at home highlighting kit when i was 13 and it was supposed to be blonde but it turned out a yellow/orange terrible color! I don't want a bad color again so I am trying to find a kit that will actually turn out blonde not yellow/orange/copper. Also, I don't want a kit that uses a cap because me hair is very long and it would be too difficult. Anyways, any tips would be welcomed! thanks! :)

You can buy kits anywhere, at the store. You just gotta find what colour you want and read the instructions. I do it all the time. Maybe get your mother or something to help you aswell as yourself if your scared it'll go wrong again?

i got this from cosmo politon!!!!

DIY highlighting kits are easier than ever to use, so you don't have to spend big bucks to score stunning streaks. We especially like kits that contain a plastic comb to "paint" on the highlights. Try Revlon High Dimension Color Accents Highlighting Kit, $13; or L'Oréal Couleur Experte, $19.99. Before you start, thoroughly brush your hair so the comb can glide evenly through your strands, says Giselle, Clairol consultant and colorist at Pierre Michel Salon in NYC. It's also a good idea to run the comb through your hair a few times without the formula on it to get the feel of the motion. When you're ready to do it for real, place the comb at the root and run it down your hair in one fluid motion.

hope this helps
