How to layer cut/razor cut hair myself?

so my hair is about shoulder length but i'd like to add layers maybe just 2 or 3 so that the back is a little longer nd it gets shorter toward the front. Is it a must that i use hair cutting scissors? also does anyone knw if they sell razor cutters at target? any other tips would be great! =)

first you can use any razor that means in the men section the razors that they use in the old fashion men's razors that are just a blade they replace but don't use it on anything else and remember they are very sharp

it's best to have a friend help and maybe get one of those barbie doll heads to practice on (from a thrift store or something)

to razor you hold a section of hair out from your head it can be about an inch wide. it's a strip from the top of your head all the way to the base of your neck. hold the hair straight out then take the razor and cut at an angel from the top of the section downward from about the center of the hair to the end of the last bit of hair.

it takes a min to do all your hair

you can do the same thing with sizzors to get that razored look

what i do to add layers is

take a section of my hair all around my scalp, about where my bangs start all around. i pull each part out and cut it as short as i want my top layer and cut into the hair (upward from the bottom) to give it a textured look

then i take the section all around my head starting about mid ear and do the same thing trimming it where i want my second layer to be (ofcourse it's longer than the first layer)

then i just trim up the bottom with that jagged upward cuts for texture too.

but it helps having a friend there to help do the back : P
