How do I dye my hair Red underneath and Brown on top? It washed out after hairdress, now DIY job!

I got my hair dyed red underneath, which also ran around the frame of my face and under my fringe, and then brown on top. I loved it, but within a week it was washed out after paying £70 at hairdressers!!! Now I have the hair dye to do it myself but not sure how to do it? Do I part the two sections off and somehow try to keep the two dyes seperate or do I do one dye wash it off and do the next one? Help please!

ok firstly you should have gone straight back to your hairdresser to complain, cuz this is not normal.

Ok you must make a star shape around the head to seperate the red from brown. If you make a straight line you end up with a line around your head from the colour and it does not look professional because you can see where the colours meet.

Next hold the top section with a clip colour the underneath section put cling film around it so the colours wont touch and some cotton wool where the root is so the colour wont bleed.

Then colour the top with the dark and do exactly the same thing cling film and cooton wool.

I hope i explained well.

foil it.

part the underneath section from

the top first, clip the top up,

put the color on the bottom,

and wrap it in foil like they do at the salon.

google how to foil hair first, so you don't end up

crunching it all up.^^

unclip the top, color that, and you don't really need to foil

that, since it won't mix with the red.

when the time's up rinse out the blonde, then clip it up,

take the foil off the red and rinse it out.

make sure to dry them seperately as well so the color doesn't

bleed down and mix.

as for the bangs, if the red is darker than the brown

take a brush and paint it where you want so it'll be more accurate.

if the brown is darker, you might have to wait a bit, bleach the bit of your

fringe, then put it on.

lol i would tie the brown area up in a pony tail and put the red in, then wrap those sections up in something (foil will work) but i would finish the red first and wash it out. dry your hair then wrap the red up and do the brown. that way you're not on a time constraint trying to do the brown while you're doing the red (you may run out of time)

don't worry about getting ALL your hair all the way to the roots just the top center of the brown will be able to be 'scene'
