How do I become more social with guys???

I find that I always close myself off and think that people should approach me if they want to talk to me. Especially to guys, I don't flirt with them just because I want them to do the flirting but then I don't know how to keep up with them because I let my pride get over me. Ex. If a guy compliments me or something I automatically assume they're cocky and that they're like every guy that wants sex or something and I shut them down by being rude or indifferent to them. Truth is I think I'm scared of getting too close to a guy to the point where I trust them too much and then getting hurt. But again the only way I'll ever get a boyfriend is if I try to speak to guys and not be so rude to them. ps. I've never had a boyfriend probably because I am always rude to them because I don't want to fall in love with them and then have a break up or something. It's a pride issue

I'm sooo the same way , I think as you mature you'll realize that not all guys are like this .. your probley just surronded by them at this age .

You just need to pull through & take a risk sometimes ... nothing ventured nothing gained ! =) .

well girls i'll say yes most guys are thinking of sex like all the time sorry but yea it really is true

but it helps to think of guys like girls LOL they are just people their minds just work differently and they pee standing up

in order to date a guy anyway you have to think you can be friends first cause how can you be with someone if you don't like them like a friend?

the best relationships usually start out as being friends. yes there can be some initial flirting, but you have to hang out and be able to talk before you really think about a relationship anyway

I think that it's a good thing that you're thinking of all this stuff, if your in Highschool-- yh it is a good thing your doing,, cuz nearly EVREY! guy just want sex, and when you do get pregnant they'll just frickin leave yhue. =( I feel sorry for thoes peepz who have teenage pregnancy..

Wait till you get older, mens aren't like that =) thoes "guys" will mature more.

And it aint neccessary to have a boyfriend RIGHT now. You'll find Mr.Right x

it's kinda normal to be assumptive in that way. you're teenagers after all! I actually think it's better to be in that mindset than being totally naive about boys. Yet, you don't have to be rude to them. There could always be a guy out there who has genuine intentions and don't deserve such hostility. lol Worse, you could come off to them as a snob or a major stuck up. Sure let the guys do the approaching, smile and talk to them nicely. Thank them for compliments. Try to have guy friends for a start. That way, you'll gain better insight on how they really are and uhm, get you a better guage on who's just a plain ol' sleaze and who's not. As far as getting a boyfriend, it's best that you have an open mind before anything else.
